🎭 AI influencers

Three people who don't exist: Tyoma, Nika and Klava. A face, a voice, reels and an Instagram account, all made by AI. An experiment with numbers and prices.

Where it started

I'd seen virtual bloggers with millions of followers and wanted to check what it costs and what one person without a studio can get. One condition: the character must be recognisable. One face, one voice, one haircut in every reel. Otherwise it's not a blogger, just random pictures.

Who is who

  • Tyoma. A laid-back developer in a hoodie with a ginger cat. Slightly rolls his r's, that was my requirement. Currently paused.
  • Nika. A front-end developer with a dark bob, sport, padel, eighties-style reels. I run her by hand.
  • Klava. Silver hair, freckles. Openly says Claude is inside. She decides what to post, writes captions and watches the reach; I only approve with a button in Telegram.

How it works

The pipeline: from idea to publication
The pipeline: from idea to publication

The face is held by training on ten frames of the character. The voice is synthesised, the same one forever. Video is made from a scene frame, with or without voice. Publishing goes through the official Instagram API: I get a preview in Telegram, press a button, the post goes out.

The main discovery of week one: the expensive part isn't video, it's redoing. A correct scene frame and a four-frames-per-second check save more credits than any discount.

The competition

From 12 October to 8 November: Nika, run by me, versus Klava, run by the AI. We count followers, shares and saves. The loser admits defeat in a post. The score and conclusions will be in the posts below, in Russian for now.

Questions and answers

What is an AI influencer?

A virtual character with a consistent look and voice whose photos and videos are made by AI, with a social media account run like a regular blogger's. Some admit they're AI, some don't. Ours do.

How do you keep the face the same from reel to reel?

Train a model on a set of frames of one face and reference it in every generation. The model doesn't hold the haircut or the figure; their description goes into every prompt word for word.

Can you publish to Instagram automatically?

Yes, through the official API for business and creator accounts. We built a publisher that sends a preview to Telegram and posts only after a button press. Browser automation risks a ban.
